Bill SB1543 - Social Media Campaign

01 — Project details

Bill SB1543 or (Universal Representation) guarantees free, quality, community-oriented legal representation for ALL immigrants at risk of deportation in Oregon.

For this project, the objective was to raise awareness about this bill in the community to garner public support for this bill. In addition, we also wanted to educate the community on what the process was to get this bill passed and what they could contribute to help pass it. For example, one need was for community members to tell their stories on how lack of representation has or may impact them.

02 — Creative process

One of the biggest hurdles to get over in social media is the short period you have to catch people's attention. When it comes to communicating on something as complicated as public policy that hurdle gets a few feet higher.

Because of this, our content needed to be direct and created to educate everybody in the community, even those who may not have any prior background on legislative processes.

This infographic raised awareness of WHAT the problem was and HOW this bill could solve it

This infographic was shared via Instagram stories, Facebook, Twitter and email to succinctly explain the process to passing this bill.

Celebration was necessary for this huge achievement, but above all, we wanted to continue educating and informing our audience.
